16. Man's Best Friend

Updated: Feb 12

A common phrase about domestic dogs, referring to their millennia-long history of close relations, loyalty and companionship with humans.

During a recent hospitalization, our patient was diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. Mr. H talked about what mattered most to him. Having lived a long and full life with it's ups and downs, we spoke of today. Mr H. shared memories of his beloved dogs.

In keeping with our mission, Mr. H. had visits from a variety of volunteers and dogs each day and his response was pure joy.

One volunteer even commented that the visiting therapy dog would not leave Mr. H's bedside even after Mr. H. fell asleep while petting it.
